Stephen A. Markey, III - Owner/Instructor

Steve has over 25 years of experience as a player, coach and manager for baseball and softball. He has coached girls' softball and boys' baseball, and has been a player and a coach on various mens' softball teams. Steve has also coached soccer and basketball and has run strength and conditioning clinics. Steve also has experience running numerous baseball camps. Steve has provided instruction for players from T-Ball to high school, including Rec ball, Travel, and Metro. Steve has represented and currently represents numerous professional baseball players. Steve's day job consists of practicing law and running the Law Offices of Stephen A. Markey, III. P.C.

Sam Snider - Manager/Director of Instruction

Sam spent 28 years with the Baltimore Orioles Organization. He was hired in 1980 as a batting practice pitcher. He moved to full time status for Cal Ripken Sr. as a bullpen catcher in 1987. He spent 21 years as bullpen catcher and acting bullpen coach. He has caught such greats as Mike Mussina, Tippy Martinez and Mike Flanagan. Sam spent 2008 and 2009 with the York Revolution of the Atlantic Independant League as the hitting/third base coach. Additionally, he was interim manager of the team during the 2009 season. Sam is available for hitting, pitching, catching & fielding lessons.

Adrian Parkes, CSCS - Manager/Director of Next Level Sports Performance

Ade has a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Wesley College and is pursuing his Masters of Science degree in Human Movement, concentrating in Sports Conditioning. He was the conditioning and fitness coach for Walsall Professional Soccer team in Walsall, England and was a strength and conditioning coach for Wesley College Women's Soccer team. Ade has run the fitness programs for soccer camps at Wesley College and Gettysburg College. Ade played four (4) years for the Mens' Soccer team and three years for the mens' Tennis team at Wesley College. Ade is an NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and is CPR/AED certified. Ade is available for one on one training, group training and team training.

Jim Geldhof - Baseball Instructor

Central Michigan University (MAC Conference) 2001-05 3rd base, 2nd base and left field. 2004 2nd Team Division I All-American. 2005 2nd Team Pre-Season All-American. 2004 &2005 Team Captain Single Season school hits leader. Career school hit leader. Jim is available for hitting lessons.

Cleve Reynolds - Baseball Instructor

Cleve graduated Chesapeake high school while playing football,wrestling and baseball. He attended Pensacola Jr.College and Dundalk Community College with a degree in Physical Fitness Technology. He also attended Towson University while playing baseball and then became a graduate assistant. He got is BS degree in Teacher Education/Physical Education and later got his Master's Degree in Sports Medicine from the United States Sports Academy. Cleve has done an internship with team USA weightlifting in 1992 prior to the Olympics. Cleve coached baseball at Loyola College and Essex Community College, he has also run baseball camps for 17years at Towson University,Harford Community College,Dave Johnson's Baseball Academy and Rick Krivda's Baseball Clinics. Cleve has also helped the Baltimore Ravens as a part-time strength coach from 1998-2005 and is also a certified trainer with NCSA. Cleve is in his 20th year as a physical education teacher with Anne Arundel County and Baltimore County Schools.

Matthew Brown - Baseball Instructor

Matt is a hitting, fielding, and catching instructor. Matt has been coaching for over thirty (30) years. He was the starting catcher for Howard Community College and has played for various semi-pro mens' teams, including Union Printers in Baltimore. He has coached baseball from the T-ball level through mens' leagues. He has assisted in running and has also been an instructor for several baseball clinics.

Ryan Rivers - Extra Innings Instructor

Ryan is a local ball player who attended Eastern Tech High School and went on to play at UNC Charlotte. Ryan was a part of two State Championships during his time at Eastern Tech. At Charlotte Ryan played 3 years of Division I baseball as a pitcher and first baseman. He was selected in the 2010 MLB Draft by the L.A. Angels as a first baseman. Ryan is currently in the L.A. Angels minor league system and is home for the off season. Ryan is an Extra Innings Instructor and is here to help bring you or your athlete?s game to the next level.

Nick Cicio - Extra Innings Instructor

Nick Cicio is a local player who grew up in the Rosedale, Maryland area. He followed his passion for baseball to the collegiate level; he first attended CCBC Catonsville for his freshman and sophomore years. His sophomore year he was named First Team All-American and was listed in the top eight pitchers for ERA. After his sophomore year, Nick pursued his baseball career at the University of Central Florida. He played two years in the Conference USA with 10 starts and 46 apperances while striking out 112 in 119 innings. During his senior year Nick lead the team in appearances and ERA and held his opponents to a .234 batting average. He also helped the Knights get back to the NCAA tournament for the first time in seven years. After his senior season Nick signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Twins. He completed his first summer of Pro Baseball in the Gulf Coast league in Fort Myers, FL with a 1.78 ERA, 20 strikeouts, and only 2 walks in twenty innings. Nick is available for baseball lessons during the off season.

Scotty Lawson - Baseball Instructor

Scotty is originally from Texas, where he attended Colleyville Heritage High School. He was a three time All District Player, and his senior year was First Team All State Second Base, and District Offensive MVP. He continued his passion for baseball in college, attending Grayson Community College and was two time All Region and Junior College National Champions in 2008. In 2008 Scotty was drafted by the Houston Astros, but he continued in collegiate ball at the University of Miami from 2008 through 2010. He was two time All ACC Second Baseman and Newcomer of the Year for the University of Miami in 2009, followed by Regional MVP in 2010. Scotty was drafted in 2010 by the Tampa Bay Rays. Scotty is available for lessons during the off season.

Costa Kapothanasis - Baseball Instructor

Costa played NCAA DI baseball at Mount St. Mary's University, MD from 2006-2010. He also captained the team during his senior year. Costa was called up to represent the Greek National Baseball Team at the 2010 European Championships, where they finished fourth out of 12 teams. Costa will be available for lessons in pitching, hitting, and fielding.

Cassey Rogers - CCBC Catonsville Softball Instructor, Windmill Specialist

Cassey Rogers has been playing softball for 14 years. She has played club softball since she was 10 years old. Cassey attended the Institute of Notre Dame High School in Baltimore, Maryland, and was a member of the softball team all four years. Her freshman year she was the Junior Varsity Captain, and won the M.V.P. award. During Cassey's senior year, she was the Captain of the Varsity team and received Best Offensive Player Award. She currently attends the Community College of Baltimore County Catonsville, where she pitches and plays 3rd base. After completion of her freshman year, Cassey was awarded All-Tournament Team Region XX, All Maryland Juco Second Team, and First Team All-Eastern Region as a Pitcher.

Lauren Toomey - Softball Instructor

Lauren was a 4 year started at Pottville Area High School. She was 2005 Pottsville Republican and Evening Herald 2nd Base All County Honorable Mention. 2006 Pottsville Repulican and Evening Herald, Middle Infield 2nd Team All County. Lauren was a four year starter from 2007 - 2010 at McDaniel College in Westminster and two year Captain, 2009-2010. She was a instructor at Green Terror Pitching/Hitting clinic December/ January 2007-2010. She will be doing pitching, hitting and fielding instructions.

Adam O'Brien - Sports Performance Coach - Next Level Sports Performance

Adam is currently completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science at Towson University and will graduate in December 2011. Adam comes to NLSP from the Gordon Institute for Sports Performance, where he spent the majority of the year as an Intern Sports Performance Coach. During his time at the Gordon Institute, Adam designed and implemented training programs for athletes participating in numerous sports, while also participating in the Gordon Institute's Annual Athletic Performance Conference. Adam is also currently pursuing his certification as a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association). Adam also attended Bluefield State College, WV and Harford Community College, MD where he played baseball for both teams. Adam's experience as a baseball player will be a huge asset to NLSP as he continues to design and develop sound and effective strength training programs for our baseball and softball athletes. Adam is also CPR/AED

Buddy Biancalana - Extra Innings Baseball Advisor

Special Instructor and Extra Innigs Baseball Advisor "Buddy Biancalana is co-founder of PMPM Sports. As a 1st round draft pick by the Kansas City Royals, Buddy played Major League Baseball with the Royals and Houston Astros. As the starting shortstop for the 1985 World Champion Royals, he received the highest number of MVP votes of any position player. His notoriety was catapulted by appearances on "Late Night with David Letterman" and "The Today Show." After retiring from Major League Baseball, Buddy served as a Minor League Infield Coordinator for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays organization as well as a Minor League Manager for Tampa Bay and the Philadelphia Phillies.
